Population Growth in Strathcona County

We are told that because of future population increases, new development areas are urgently required.  Do the facts support this contention?  Will we soon be out of space?

It took from 1961 to 2018 for the population of Strathcona to increase by 86,306, Fifty-seven years during the biggest boom in Alberta history.  Bremner is planned for 85,000. That means half a century to absorb the additional expansion assuming boom growth rates. Since the collapse of O&G, Alberta has seen negative growth.  We will not need massive new growth areas in the foreseeable future.
